Today we were impersonated. Someone created a fake Farcaster account and launched not one but two Clankers pretending to be us. This could have gone very badly. Thankfully, we were monitoring our data and noticed an unusual spike in new users.

We quickly searched Warpcast and found the scam account. Without overthinking, we sent a series of casts alerting the community. I believe this helped prevent significant damage, as both tokens returned to their initial launch market caps.

I've reported the fake account, but as of now, it remains active. If anyone has contacts within the Warpcast team, we'd appreciate it if you could ask them to assist. I've already pinged both Dan and Alex (Proxy).

I'm still somewhat confused about why anyone would rip off our work like this. We're still a small project without a huge following, so it seems quite odd.

However, this incident made me realise we need to be more vocal about what we're building. Until now, I've been focused on refining our strategy before increasing our posts.

While we don't have a perfect strategy fully outlined yet, our goal, in short, is to bring football (soccer) onchain. We've launched an onchain attestation via EAS on Base, allowing fans to attest their support for their clubs. Additionally, we publish weekly essays on Paragraph and have recently been experimenting with Prediction markets and Games through our Farcaster mini-app.

We have an official Clanker token, with straightforward tokenomics. It was a fair launch without any team allocations. Everyone who owns $falsenine has purchased it independently. The founding team currently holds less than 5% of the total supply. We'll work towards acquiring more over time.
